WEST HAM
- West Ham United come into this on the back of a hard-fought for 1-1 draw away at top four chasing Newcastle United last weekend. The Hammers have begun to turn their form around with one defeat in their last six matches in all competitions.
- Thilo Kehrer picked up an injury against Newcastle and is a big doubt here, with Ben Johnson or Aaron Cresswell candidates to come into the starting XI.
CHELSEA
- Todd Boehly and Chelsea’s ridiculous January transfer window, backing up a ridiculous summer window has massively complicated the already difficult job Graham Potter has on his hands. The Blues’ most recent outing was a sign of that complexity and lack of cohesion as they shared a goalless draw at home to local rivals Fulham.
- Ben Chilwell is pushing for a start after making his return from injury off the bench last time out and Joao Felix returns from suspension, but Raheem Sterling is doubtful after picking up a knock in training.

THE PREDICTION
David Moyes’ West Ham United have been excellent, on the whole. The Scotsman kept them up initially and then managed back-to-back top seven finishes in the Premier League. He has come under intense scrutiny and pressure this season, though, as they flirt with being drawn into a relegation battle. They do begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting just outside of the bottom three and do have the future distraction of the UEFA Europa Conference League but performances have improved, particularly defensively, despite the sale of Craig Dawson and injury to Kurt Zouma. Chelsea have won just four of their last 16 matches in all competitions. Those wins have come against Dinamo Zagreb, Red Bull Salzburg, AFC Bournemouth and Crystal Palace. The squad is bloated and lacking a hierarchy with nearly £600 million spent but flaws all over the pitch either remaining or worsening. That lack of cohesion is being shown on the pitch, too, with a lack of fluency and incision in attack with a low-scoring encounter seeming likely for this one, regardless of the match result.
