THE LOWDOWN

MAN UTD

  • A miserable Manchester derby capitulation once again last Sunday shined the spotlight negatively onto Man Utd who have been knocked out of the Champions League places by Arsenal following the latest round of Premier League results, adding importance to this game.
  • Luke Shaw is still testing positive for COVID-19 and will miss out here and Scott McTominay is a doubt with a muscle injury, but Edinson Cavani and Cristiano Ronaldo have been declared fit and available for selection.

TOTTENHAM

  • Tottenham once again bounced back from an awful result last time out, as they responded to being knocked out of the FA Cup by thrashing a woeful Everton 5-0 in North London and they now return to a ground that saw them wallop Man Utd by six goals to one only last season.
  • Antonio Conte will likely name an unchanged side to the one who smashed Everton with the exception of Ryan Sessegnon, who was forced off with a muscle injury against the Toffees and will likely be replaced in the starting line-up here by Sergio Reguilon.

THE PREDICTION

Tottenham are still well in the top four hunt despite their infuriating inconsistency and three points at Old Trafford would take them above their opponents here in the table. Man Utd, in front of an angry home support will be expected to react strongly following last weekend’s derby humiliation and are likely to come out of the traps very quickly, pushing bodies forward whenever possible. However, this may work against them with the dangerous Kane and Son a huge threat for the visitors on the counter-attack and the Red Devils will be well aware of the fate they suffered at the hands of the pair last season. Games between these two sides recently have seen plenty of action with over 2.5 goals scored in each of the last three. Back the same outcome to occur this time round, as well as both teams to score.

Tip: BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE AND OVER 2.5 GOALS
