THE LOWDOWN

LEICESTER

  • Leicester have found victories hard to come by in the Premier League this season, with their 1-1 draw with Leeds Utd at Elland Road their seventh league game out of 11 in which they did not manage to win, leaving them currently marooned in midtable.
  • The Foxes are without a number of key players ahead of Chelsea visit to the East Midlands, with midfielder Youri Tielemans arguably the biggest absence of them all as the influential Belgium joins an absentee list which includes defenders Wesley Fofana, James Justin and Ryan Bertrand.

CHELSEA

  • Chelsea sit top of the Premier League, but by a margin of just three points after they threw away a one goal lead to draw 1-1 against Burnley in their most recent league game, a hugely surprising result against a side inside the bottom three.
  • Head coach Thomas Tuchel remains without the services of Mateo Kovacic and Romelu Lukaku but Timo Werner has restarted training and has a chance of being involved.

THE PREDICTION

Chelsea have set the pace in the 2021-22 Premier League with eight wins, two draws and just one defeat from their 11 games, including 13 points from a possible 15 accrued on the road. The way the Blues play under Thomas Tuchel suits them well on the road as they have the ability to not only keep the ball and dictate play at well, but also soak up pressure when needed with a view to hitting their opponents on the counter attack by utilising any additional space inside the opposition half. The strength-in-depth at Tuchel’s disposal is a huge asset for the German and with Leicester missing some big names, particularly Tielemans, the smart play has to be backing Chelsea to respond well to their setback against Burnley, by picking up three points here at the King Power Stadium.

Tip: CHELSEA TO WIN
