THE LOWDOWN

LEEDS UTD

  • Leeds Utd’s first match under Jesse Marsch saw them put in a much-improved showing particularly from a defensive perspective, however it proved not to be enough as the Whites fell 1-0 away to Leicester with Foxes goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel starring for the hosts.
  • When taking into account the performance, Marsch could stick with the same side, but having been named on the bench this past Saturday, striker Patrick Bamford could be in line for a start.

ASTON VILLA

  • Aston Villa put together arguably the most complete performance under Steven Gerrard in their most recent league game, which saw them crush Southampton 4-0 to make it two straight victories for the Villains.
  • After having both tested positive for Covid-19, neither left back Lucas Digne nor centre-back Ezri Konsa are expected to feature at Elland Road, whilst Marvelous Nakamba remains out injured.

THE TEAM NEWS

ASTON VILLA

PREDICTED XI (4-3-1-2): Martinez; Cash, Chambers, Mings, Young; McGinn, Luiz, Ramsey; Coutinho; Ings, Watkins

THE PREDICTION

The Elland Road crowd may still be slightly shocked by the state of events over the past ten days or so, which saw Marcelo Bielsa leave the club and be replaced by Marsch. But with the Whites deeply entrenched in the relegation fight, there is no doubt that Leeds Utd fans will be right behind the team against Aston Villa, especially following their side’s display against Leicester. Had they been more clinical in front of goal, Leeds would have gained at least a point at the King Power Stadium, if not all three. With that in mind, provided the home side maintain the same level of performance as they showed last Saturday, then they stand an excellent chance of accruing points against a dangerous Villa side, but one who have fallen to some poor results on their travels. So, back Leeds Utd to either win or draw via the double chance market.

Tip: LEEDS TO WIN/DRAW DOUBLE CHANCE
