THE LOWDOWN

EVERTON

  • Everton refuse to make staying up easy for themselves despite going one goal up against Brentford last time out, as two red cards and four goals later, Frank Lampard’s side wound up 2-3 losers and down to nine men.
  • Both Jarrad Branthwaite and Solomon Rondon will now miss out here through suspension, whilst Lampard will be desperate that at least one of Michael Keane, Ben Godfrey or Yerry Mina will be fit enough to start in central defence.

CRYSTAL PALACE

  • Crystal Palace came from behind to force a 1-1 draw away at Aston Villa this past Sunday and they’ll be looking to finish strongly across their final two games with the aim no doubt to finish above rivals Brighton in the table.
  • Winger Michael Olise has been ruled out for the rest of the season through injury and likely to join him and Nathan Ferguson on the sidelines are both James McArthur and James Tomkins.

THE TEAM NEWS

QUESTIONABLE: Godfrey (Injured), Keane (Illness), Mina (Injured)

CRYSTAL PALACE

PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Butland; Clyne, Andersen, Guehi, Mitchell; Gallagher, Hughes, Schlupp; Ayew, Edouard, Zaha

THE PREDICTION

Everton will understand the assignment! Three points and their Premier League status is secure, allowing them to finally draw a line over a nightmare season. However, Crystal Palace have had plenty of success against the Toffees already this season, beating them in both the Premier League and FA Cup at Selhurst Park. The key here though, is that Palace have nothing to play for other than positioning, whilst in contrast they face a desperate Everton with everything to play for inside the Goodison Park cauldron. Add that to the absence of one of their star players in Michael Olise and it may well prove a difficult evening Palace from an attacking perspective in particular. Back Everton to put in one last huge effort in front of their own fans and do enough for victory, thus securing their survival.

Tip: EVERTON TO WIN
