THE LOWDOWN

CRYSTAL PALACE

  • Crystal Palace’s response to losing 0-1 at home against Chelsea was emphatic, as they travelled to Watford in midweek and dispatched the struggling Hornets 1-4, with a late brace from Wilfried Zaha the highlight.
  • It would be a surprise if boss Patrick Viera made any unenforced changes to his starting XI following such an impressive victory, which means the likes of forward Odsonne Edouard may be forced to remain content with a place on the bench.

BURNLEY

  • The Clarets are riding the crest of a wave following successive Premier League wins and clean sheets, with them now just two points adrift of safety with a game in hand on 17th-placed Newcastle.
  • Attacker Maxwel Cornet was forced to miss Burnley most recent victory over Tottenham because of an Achilles problem and he will be hoping to at least make the bench in this one, whilst Sean Dyche could also be boosted by the return of both Charlie Taylor and Ashley Westwood.

QUESTIONABLE:

BURNLEY

PREDICTED XI (4-4-2): Pope; Roberts, Tarkowski, Mee, Pieters; Lennon, Cork, Brownhill, McNeil; Weghorst, Rodriguez

QUESTIONABLE: Cornet (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

With both these teams coming off the back of excellent wins last time out, it’s difficult to see which way this one will pan out. Burnley have given themselves a real chance of hauling themselves out of trouble and as you would expect, it has been built upon a solid defensive foundation, with the signing of Weghorst a crucial addition in attack. Recent games involving Crystal Palace have not always proven high scoring affairs with three of their last four fixtures in the league containing under 2.5 goals scored. Against a resolute Burnley side who will make things extremely difficult for the Eagles’ frontline, another afternoon of frustration could be on the cards for Patrick Viera’s men as they try to break their opponents down. Be sure to back under 2.5 goals across 90 minutes here, regardless of who triumphs.

Tip: UNDER 2.5 GOALS
