THE LOWDOWN

CHELSEA

  • Chelsea’s 0-2 defeat at home to Aston Villa finally saw the end of Graham Potter as Blues boss after the hosts demonstrated further lack of conviction offensively combined with a soft under-belly defensively.
  • Centre-back Thiago Silva remains out and his leadership within the Chelsea will be sorely missed again with fellow vastly experienced defender Cesar Azpilicueta also unavailable for the hosts.

LIVERPOOL

  • Jurgen Klopp had every right to be furious with his side on Saturday after their second-half collapse away at Man City which saw them lose 4-1 after going in at half-time with the scores level at 1-1.
  • Klopp has warned that he will make changes for their trip to Chelsea and it would be no surprise if more experience was brought into the starting line-up in the shape of James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to name two players, whilst Darwin Nunez should also come into the team.

THE TEAM NEWS

LIVERPOOL

THE PREDICTION

For Chelsea, their only real focus at this stage has to be the Champions League and their quarter-final clash with Real Madrid as they continue to lose ground on the European places domestically. Without a permanent head coach as it stands, they feel in a state of limbo which is likely to remain in place until the summer unless a quick appointment is made. Liverpool meanwhile, are hurt, like a wounded animal, pride dented by Man City and following Klopp’s strong words, are expected to show a big response. The Reds still boast plenty of quality options going forward and should bounce back to gain at least a point, if not all three at Stamford Bridge.

TIP: DOUBLE CHANCE - DRAW/LIVERPOOL
