THE LOWDOWN

BRENTFORD

  • Brentford had Ivan Toney to thank last weekend after their star striker scored a vital hat-trick to lead his side to a seismic 1-3 win away to Norwich, providing some crucial breathing space between themselves and the bottom three.
  • Christian Eriksen started against the Canaries and came through the match unscathed, so with a full week of training behind him should be set to feature from the start again here.

BURNLEY

  • Successive home defeats for Burnley have kept them inside the bottom three despite the woes of both Everton and Leeds Utd directly above them, but the Clarets can go within three points of Brentford with a win in the capital.
  • Centre-back Ben Mee has been ruled out of this one in a big loss for the visitors and Nathan Collins is expected to once again deputise in his absence.

THE PREDICTION

The stakes are extremely high here for both teams. Brentford know that three points would prove a massive step towards survival, whilst Burnley will move out of the relegation zone at least temporarily if they were to win. Even a draw would be enough for Sean Dyche’s men until Everton play later in the weekend, but defeat for them would be disastrous. Neither side are expected to play too adventurous a game here, knowing the threat of their opponents and chance could be few and far between. With that in mind, back under 2.5 goals scored over 90 minutes.

Tip: UNDER 2.5 GOALS
