THE LOWDOWN

BOURNEMOUTH

Andoni Iraola and his Cherries side finally arrested the slide that they had been on as they enjoyed their first Premier League win of this calendar year last weekend with a comfortable 2-0 victory against relegation-bound Burnley at Turf Moor. Justin Kluivert scored early on before Antoine Semenyo clinched all three points late on.

Iraola is a proactive coach and has instilled a genuinely entertaining style of football to watch, especially for the neutral, at the Vitality Stadium. They have a game-in-hand and will be looking to propel themselves into the top-half of the table for the remainder of this season, especially as the difficulty of their remaining fixtures begins to ease.

SHEFFIELD UTD

It has been a fairly pathetic and humiliating campaign for Sheffield United with the possibility of a second managerial change of the season becoming likelier with pressure mounting on Chris Wilder, who returned to the Bramall Lane dugout in December to replace former Leeds United boss Paul Heckingbottom.

They come into this one on the back of being hammered by six goals to nil by Arsenal on Monday evening and they sit rooted to the bottom-of-the-table in the Premier League. In their 27 matches so far this season, they have conceded an astonishing 72 goals and they have let in 21 in their last four matches in all competitions at home.

THE TEAM NEWS

BOURNEMOUTH

Andoni Iraola has confirmed that Argentinian centre-back Marcos Senesi will be unavailable for the Cherries until after the upcoming international break due to a hamstring injury that he is suffering from.

Iraola is 'hopeful' that Dominic Solanke will be available this weekend and the Englishman has said he will be 'fine' for both this weekend and their midweek clash with Luton, despite not training this week.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Neto; Smith, Zabarnyi, Mepham, Kerkez; Cook, Scott; Semenyo, Kluivert, Tavernier; Solanke

UNAVAILABLE: Senesi (Injured), Hill (Injured), Fredericks (Injured), Aarons (Injured), Adams (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Kelly (Injured), Christie (Injured)

SHEFFIELD UTD

Chris Wilder has said that he expects to have a 'similar' group of players available for this weekend to what were available for their defeat to Arsenal, last weekend.

The Blades welcomed Ben Brereton Diaz back into the squad last week but he remained an unused substitute. They will remain without long-term injury absentees, John Egan and Chris Basham.

PREDICTED XI (4-5-1): Grbic; Bogle, Ahmedhodzic, Robinson, Trusty; McAtee, Vinicius Souza, Hamer, Davies, Brereton Diaz; McBurnie

UNAVAILABLE: Basham (Injured), Egan (Injured), Holgate (Suspended), Lowe (Injured), Norrington-Davies (Injured), Ben Slimane (Injured), Archer (Injured), Brewster (Injured), Jebbison (Illness)

THE PREDICTION

Prior to last weekend, AFC Bournemouth were winless in this calendar year but they will hope to use a victory against 19th placed Burnley as a bit of a springboard for the remainding couple of months of the campaign as they seek to finish with a bit of a flourish. Sheffield United are one of a number of teams in Europe, such as Almeria and Salernitana, that are simply waiting for their inevitable fate of relegation to be mathematically confirmed. A comfortable and potentially home win is to be expected at the Vitality Stadium.

TIP: BOURNEMOUTH TO WIN
