THE LOWDOWN

OH LEUVEN

Oud-Heverlee Leuven, coached by former Watford and Celta Vigo manager Oscar Garcia, begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting in the bottom four and the end of season relegation round playoff places. The home team have managed just three victories in their opening 14 matches as they struggle down towards the bottom.

They come into this on the back of a 3-1 hammering at the hands of Genk a couple of weeks ago. That was their third successive defeat but they have remained entertaining throughout the campaign, scoring 20 goals so far this season – no team in the bottom-half has scored more. Their 14 matches have consisted of 49 goals.

CLUB BRUGGE

Under the management of former Celtic and NYCFC boss Ronny Deila, Club Brugge began the season expecting to challenge back for the Belgian title and started very well but have since drifted and return from the November international break sitting outside of the top six. They have also remained entertaining, though, with 26 goals scored.

They come into this one on the back of a goalless draw in the derby with Cercle Brugge, a couple of weeks ago. That means the visitors have now managed just one victory in their last eight Jupiler Pro League matches with the UEFA Europa Conference League group stages proving to be a bit of a hassle for them.

THE TEAM NEWS

OH LEUVEN

Oud-Heverlee Leuven have no fresh injury concerns or suspension issues for this one with the likes of Federico Ricca and Alexandru Calut doubts for this one.

PREDICTED XI (3-4-2-1): Prevot; Dom, Pletinckx, Miguel; Sagrado, Schrijvers, Banzuzi, N’Dri; Misao, Maziz; Opoku

UNAVAILABLE:

QUESTIONABLE: Ricca (Injured), Calut (Injured)

CLUB BRUGGE

Club Brugge will be missing a few key men for the visit of OH Leuven with Bjorn Meijer, Antonio Nusa and Andreas Skov Olsen all unavailable due to injury.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Mignolet; Buchanan, Ordanez, Mechele, De Cuyper; Vetlesen, Onyedika; Thiago, Vanaken, Zinckernagel; Jutgla

UNAVAILABLE: Meijer (Injured), Nusa (Injured), Skov Olsen (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Vermant (Injured), Sabbe (Injured), Talbi (Injured), Bursik (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

These are two teams dramatically underperforming their respective pre-season expectations with OH Leuven struggling down at the bottom and Club Brugge missing out on the top six as it stands. However, they have both remained very entertaining teams to watch with the two sides combining for 46 goals scored so far this season. So, whilst there may be a lack of order and effectiveness, a high-scoring and entertaining affair is to be expected on Sunday afternoon.
