In the first-leg of this CONMEBOL Recopa Sudamericana tie, Lanus edged past Flamengo by a goal to nil at Estadio Ciudad de Lanus, courtesy of a 77th minute winner scored by Rodrigo Castillo.

Flamengo, under the management of Filipe Luis, have since hammered Madureira domestically as they now welcome Lanus to Rio da Janeiro, with the Argentinians having been able to have a weekend off.

Lanus are a generally low-scoring side and, as the underdogs, they are expected to be difficult to play against for Flamengo but, at the Maracana, the hosts have to be favourites to at least win the leg.
