Fiorentina begin the 34th match day of the campaign sitting just eight points clear of the bottom three and the relegation places. After being knocked out of the UEFA Europa Conference League at the quarter-final stage against Crystal Palace, I Viola then stumbled to a 1-1 draw with fellow strugglers Lecce last weekend.
They now face a Sassuolo side that head into this one on the back of a hard-fought 2-1 defeat of Como at the Mapei Stadium last weekend in Reggio Emilia. Cristian Volpato and M’Bala Nzola scored the goals for Fabio Grosso’s side as they sit tucked inside the top-half ahead of this weekend.
Sassuolo have been very good following their promotion last season and it should be quite a fun watch for the neutral with Fiorentina seeking to burst clear of danger.
