Kick-off date/time:
How to watch on TV & online: UK – TNT Sports & HBO Max / USA – Paramount+
Feyenoord preview: Strong Feyenoord
Feyenoord come into this one on the back of a comfortable 2-0 defeat of AZ Alkmaar in the Eredivisie at the weekend to leave them sitting at the top-of-the-table domestically with six wins and two draws, as well as 27 goals scored, in their opening eight games.
Back under Giovanni van Bronckhorst, Feyenoord began this competition with a 5-1 thrashing at the hands of a rampant and Raphinha-inspired Barcelona at Camp Nou in a game that they trailed from as early as the third minute.
Como preview: A special start
Cesc Fabregas’ big spending and ambitious Como made their debut in the UEFA Champions League with a 4-1 thumping of RB Leipzig at Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia a month ago.
After an uncharacteristically flat 2-0 defeat to newly-promoted Frosinone before the international break, Como earned themselves a creditable goalless draw against Roma the other day, albeit frustrated after Donyell Malen had been sent off in the 53rd minute.
Feyenoord team news: A few injuries
Feyenoord have a few injury issues for this one as defenders Tsuyoshi Watanabe, Jordan Bos and Bart Nieuwkoop are all carrying injuries alongside former Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Jakub Moder.
Predicted XI (4-3-3): Ernst; Read, St. Juste, Deijl, Marmol; Zechiel, Vanhoutte, Valente; Hadj Moussa, Ferri, Lopez
Unavailable: Borges (Injured), Bos (Injured), Nieuwkoop (Injured), Moder (Injured), Beelen (Injured), Nelson (Injured), Van Persie (Injured), Smal (Injured)
Questionable: Watanabe (Injured)
Como team news: Nothing fresh
There does not appear to be any fresh injury concerns for Cesc Fabregas to concern himself with, albeit Moise Kean remains a doubt after sustaining a leg injury over the international break.
Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Butez; Couto, Jacobo, Chalobah, Valle; Perrone, Da Cunha; Diao, Paz, Baturina; Douvikas
Unavailable:
Questionable: Kean (Injured)
Feyenoord vs Como prediction
Giovanni van Bronckhorst has often been more pragmatic in European competition, and to great effect, too, having led Rangers to the UEFA Europa League final a few years ago. However, if their openness against Barca is anything to go by, he has opted to evolve that for the league phase of this competition at least and that should lead to quite a fun watch given the way in which Como play, too, so both teams scoring would seem a decent bet for this one in the Dutch second city.
Feyenoord vs Como Tip: Both teams to score
