Everton preview: Still fighting for Europe
Everton, coached by David Moyes, are in the push for a UEFA Champions League spot with the Toffees just three points off the top six and the potential UCL spots if Aston Villa win the UEFA Europa League this season.
The Merseysiders did, though, succumb to a last-gasp 2-1 defeat to West Ham United at the London Stadium with Callum Wilson scoring a winning goal in second-half stoppage-time.
Man City preview: Back to the title race
Manchester City come into this one on the back of a dramatic 2-1 defeat of Southampton in the semi-finals of the FA Cup at Wembley Stadium, courtesy of a late turnaround with goals scored by Jeremy Doku and Nico Gonzalez.
That means that the Cityzens have now enjoyed six successive victories across all competitions, moving into contention to win yet another domestic treble in what could be Pep Guardiola's final campaign.
Everton team news: Beto could return
Further details will appear here following pre-match press conferences.
Having sustained a head injury against Liverpool a couple of weeks ago, striker Beto missed the trip to West Ham due to concussion but he may be back involved here.
Jarrad Branthwaite was also forced off against Liverpool and his season is now over alongside Manchester City loanee attacker Jack Grealish.
Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Pickford; O’Brien, Tarkowski, Keane, Mykolenko; Garner, Gueye; Ndiaye, Dewsbury-Hall, Armstrong; Beto
Unavailable: Branthwaite (Injured), Grealish (Injured)
Questionable: Beto (Concussion)
Man City team news: Back to full strength
Further details will appear here following pre-match press conferences.
Manchester City head across to Liverpool ready to go back to a full-strength side, having rotated against Southampton in that FA Cup semi-final last weekend.
Ruben Dias and Rodri remain doubts for this one, though, despite the intention to go back to full-strength, with Josko Gvardiol nearing a return.
Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Donnarumma; Nunes, Khusanov, Guehi, O’Reilly; Silva, O’Reilly; Semenyo, Cherki, Doku; Haaland
Unavailable: Gvardiol (Injured)
Questionable: Dias (Injured), Rodri (Injured)
Everton vs Man City prediction
That defeat against West Ham was the second successive week in which Everton had conceded a last-gasp winner in a 3-1 defeat. The Toffees have now won just one of their last five matches in the Premier League. In what is a tougher run-in, City face a tough test in Liverpool. Everton keep things tight and may well bloody the nose of a City side that have been a little bit shaky against Burnley and Saints. A City win remains the likelier outcome with both teams scoring also seeming a good bet.
