Ethiopia vs Malawi prediction

Ranked 144th in the world, the Ethiopians did most recently manage to earn themselves a 4-0 aggregate defeat of fellow minnows Sao Tome e Principe in the preliminary round of CAF Africa Cup of Nations qualification. 

They now face a Malawi side that were beaten 1-0 by Botswana in their most recent outing. Malawi finished their FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign reasonably well before starting 2026 slowly with a draw against Zambia's U23 side and then a defeat to Botswana.

A low-scoring encounter is to be expected for this one with limited quality between the two sides, regardless of whether not we end up with a winner here.
