Elsa Jacquemot advanced to the semi-finals of the Guadalajara Open after coming from a set down to beat Queen’s Club champion Tatjana Maria. Jacquemot was pegged back in set two and three after going an early break up in each, but still came through to win 3-6 6-4 6-4 after two hours and 12 minutes. 

Emiliana Arango will be her opponent after the Colombian comfortably got past Mariana Stakusic in straight sets. Arango was potent when it came to her break point opportunities, converting six out of the seven available as she won 6-2 6-3. This was a dominant display from the world number 86, who won 75% of her first serve points.

Jacquemot was tested to the limit against Maria but has enjoyed a strong showing in Guadalajara, with previous victories over Elise Mertens and Maria Sakkari. This could be another close encounter, but we give her the edge.
