Ekaterina Alexandrova vs Iga Swiatek prediction

Iga Swiatek’s bid for a seventh Grand Slam title will face its biggest test yet against in-form Ekaterina Alexandrova.

The reigning Wimbledon champion needed to scrap hard to defeat Anna Kalinskaya 7-6 6-4 and is not having it all her own way at Flushing Meadows.

Next up, she meets a Russian playing at a career-high and who dismantled Laura Siegemund 6-0 6-1 last time out. 

Alexandrova will not fear Swiatek either. The Pole may lead the head-to-head 4-2 but it is 2-2 on hard courts and with the level the 13th seed is playing at, she will be quietly confident she can target Swiatek’s vulnerabilities. 

Swiatek herself is also on a sensational run of 18 wins from her last 19 matches, so it’s hard to back against her. That said, the odds on her winning aren't really worth exploring given there is some jeopardy in this one. 

Alexandrova can definitely take this to a decider but whether she can produce the goods in the big moments remains to be seen.
