Crystal Palace have discovered some excellent form of late as they now take on a frustrated Newcastle United side at Selhurst Park on Sunday afternoon.

Crystal Palace preview: In-form Palace

Crystal Palace come into this one on the back of a 3-0 hammering of Fiorentina in the first-leg of their UEFA Europa Conference League last week, courtesy of goals scored by Tyrick Mitchell, Ismaila Sarr and Jean-Philippe Mateta.

The Eagles, coached by Oliver Glasner, who is set to depart the club this summer, have now succumbed to just two defeats in their last 12 matches across all competitions, having finally come through a woeful run in the middle part of the year.

Newcastle preview: Howe pressure

Newcastle United went into the March international break in a woeful mood as they were beaten, for the second time this season, by arch-rivals Sunderland with Brian Brobbey scoring a last-gasp winner at St James’ Park.

The defeat for the Magpies came a few days after they had suffered a 7-2 demolition at the hands of Barcelona at Camp Nou in their UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie, losing 8-3 on aggregate.

Crystal Palace team news: Nothing fresh

In bis pre-match press conference, Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner confirmed that Eddie Nketiah will be out for the rest of this season due to injury.

Defensive midfielder Cheick Doucoure is the only other absentee against Fiorentina, while Jorgen Strand Larsen has returned to the squad after being suspended in Europe.

Predicted XI (3-4-3): Henderson; Richards, Lacroix, Canvot; Munoz, Wharton, Hughes, Mitchell; Sarr, Strand Larsen, Guessand

Unavailable: Doucoure (Injured), Nketiah (Injured)

Questionable:

Newcastle team news: Bruno Guimaraes still out

Brazil international midfielder Bruno Guimaraes has been dealing with a hamstring injury and he was due to be back but the former Olympique Lyonnais man is now dealing with mumps.

Sandro Tonali, who is expected to depart the club this summer, is available for this one alongside fellow midfielder Lewis Miley. Fabian Schar remains sidelined alongside Emil Krafth and Sven Botman.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Pope; Trippier, Thiaw, Burn, Hall; Joelinton, Tonali, Willock; Murphy, Wissa, Gordon

Unavailable: Schar (Injured), Botman (Injured), Krafth (Injured), Guimaraes (Illness)

Questionable:

Crystal Palace vs Newcastle prediction

Despite the fact that Palace have been strong of late and Newcastle have been the opposite, siding with Newcastle would appear a good bet for this one as the hosts completely focus on their upcoming trip to Italy. There is also a good argument that a one-game-a-week and rested Newcastle side, under Eddie Howe, are one of the best teams in the country.

Crystal Palace vs Newcastle tip: Double chance – Newcastle to win or draw
