THE TEAM NEWS

KARNATAKA TUSKERS

  • It has been a difficult T10 League campaign of the Karnataka Tuskers having just won one of their five matches played so far and that victory came in their first match of the tournament so they are in a tough run of form coming into this final match.
  • The batting has ultimately let them down as they have been unable to score as quick as most other teams as 114 has been their biggest total in the tournament to date and only one of their players managed a solitary fifty.
  • Several of their underperforming players like Evin Lewis, Kesrick Williams, Ross Whiteley and Hashim Amla will all want to produce a good performance as they will be keen to leave a positive memory for future T10 tournaments.

TEAM ABU DHABI

  • Team Abu Dhabi come into this final day of matches in the group stage of the T10 League waiting on the results of the Qalandars prior to their game and they will know after that one whether they have a chance of qualifying if the Qalandars lose.
  • It has not been a particularly good tournament for Team Abu Dhabi ever since they won their opening match and that has largely been down to their bowling attack being unable to take wickets with just 10 taken in the five matches played so far as they have struggled to slow opposing batsmen down.
  • There is a heavy English influence in the squad and there has been a mixture of performance levels among them with Luke Wright shining with the bat as their topscorer, but Lewis Gregory, Moeen Ali, Richard Gleeson and Harry Gurney especially will want to put in a strong performance in what is likely to be their final game.

THE PREDICTION

Team Abu Dhabi may have a chance of reaching the knockout phase if the Qalandars lose, but that would then mean they would need to comprehensively beat the Tuskers here. Both teams have been relatively disappointing throughout this campaign as neither have had a batsmen to really kick on and big scores have been few and far between. The Tuskers look to have the edge in quality overall and their wicket-taking ability may just prove the difference here.
