Neither Arshdeep Singh not Avesh Khan would get into India’s first choice ODI bowling attack, but both made strong cases for future inclusion by blowing away South Africa in the last ODI. Arshdeep picked up a five-wicket-haul, whilst Avesh took four himself as India left themselves just 117 runs to win, which they achieved comfortably with right wickets remaining.
THE PREDICTION
South Africa really were disappointing at the ‘Bullring’ to the extent where it surprised onlookers. You have to think that a batting line-up of their quality won’t allow a repeat performance this time round. It would be easy to back India following their showing on Sunday, but we so often see a complete turnaround in series such as this and on a new ground, the shrewd move may be to back the Proteas to right the wrongs of Johannesburg and bounce back immediately.
