• Sydney Sixers will need to comeback strongly after suffering a shock Boxing Day defeat at the hands of Melbourne Stars at the SCG, who prior to that had all of their opening three games.
• James Vince struck 83 but suffered from a lack of support at the top of the order, leaving the Sixers with just 154/8 from their 20 overs, a below-par effort which turned out to be a losing score despite the bowlers’ best efforts.

THE PREDICTION

The ‘Sydney Smash’ is set to be another smash hit between two teams needing victory for different reasons. The Thunder are looking to break into the top four, whilst the Sixers want to keep the pressure on Brisbane Heat at the top of the table. When comparing the batting line-ups of the two teams, Sydney Sixers have the edge, certainly down the order with plenty of experienced players capable of seeing them home in a tight situation.
