• Adelaide Strikers failed make it back-to-back wins in the BBL as they could not take advantage of facing an under-strength Melbourne Stars side, meaning they come into this clash at the foot of the ladder having won just one of their last eight games.
• The Strikers will feel hard done to in what was something of a controversial loss after Peter Siddle believed that he had taken the key wicket of Joe Clarke late on, only for it to be ruled a no ball and Adelaide could not respond to that disappointment.
