THE PREDICTION

Having lost their last two in WBBL|06, Perth Scorchers returned to winning ways as they earned just their second win of the tournament with an impressive victory over Sydney Sixers on Sunday. If the Scorchers were to end their poor run of form, they needed their opening pair of Sophie Devine and Beth Mooney to come to the fore and they did exactly that as they put on 151 for the first wicket. Devine smashed her way to a magnificent 103 as she notched the first century of this year’s competition with the Scorchers reaching 183/4 and that proved far too big for the Sixers who were beaten for the first time. In a repeat of that clash, the Sixers will be out for revenge but must improve with both bat and ball. Ellyse Perry and Alyssa Healy managed just 24 runs between them and in the battle of the big guns, it could be their influence that can help reverse the form of the previous match. However, with the Perth opening pair in such fine form on Sunday, they can build on that success to make it back-to-back victories over the Sydney outfit.
