THE PREDICTION

Melbourne Renegades came out second best in their clash of the winless teams as Hobart Hurricanes were big victors to leave the Renegades as the only side without a win in WBBL|06. In a terrible effort with both bat and ball, the Renegades were bowled out for just 81 with only three players reaching double-figures. They then took a solitary wicket in reply as they fell to a nine-wicket defeat and things could be about to get a lot worse for the out-of-form side as they take on early leaders Sydney Thunder. With three wins and no defeats to their name, the Thunder have made a strong start having made it three victories in succession with a convincing win over Perth Scorchers in their most recent outing. Heather Knight notched her second half-century of the competition as her superb 108 partnership with Rachael Haynes helped to set up the win while Samantha Bates’ brilliant effort with the ball also played a big role. She took three wickets for just nine runs from her four overs as the Thunder bowled the Scorchers for 120 in a 24-run win and with the respective form of the two teams completely contrasting, it is the Sydney outfit that should claim another two points here.
