THE PREDICTION

Sydney Thunder were unable to continue their strong run of form as they failed to make it four wins in a row, instead succumbing to their first defeat of WBBL|06 in their clash with Melbourne Renegades. Despite skittling the Renegades for 110, the Thunder were unable to reach their target on a pitch that did not offer a great deal to the batters. Sammy-Jo Johnson took 4-26 to set the Thunder up nicely but their chase fell short as they ended their 20 overs on 108/7, culminating in a two-run loss. They will hope to put that loss behind them as quickly as possible as they take on Hobart Hurricanes, a side with just one win to their name so far having lost out to Sydney Sixers in their most recent outing. The Hurricanes pushed the Sixers all the way but several of the batting line-up failed to kick-on to make a big score having got themselves into a strong position and that ultimately cost them. Hobart showed they can be competitive with that display but this will be another difficult clash for them against a strong outfit and it is the Thunder that should prevail.
