THE PREDICTION

Hobart Hurricanes registered just their second win of WBBL|06 as they defeated Melbourne Renegades last time out but they will be eager to build on that in this clash. The Renegades are the only side that the Hurricanes have beaten in this campaign so the task against Sydney Sixers is a difficult one. Hobart won by nine runs against the Melbourne outfit having successfully defended the 143 runs they scored with a solid all-round bowling effort limiting the scoring rate enough to come out on top. The Sixers come into this after back-to-back defeats to an impressive Perth Scorchers side that simply outplayed them in both encounters. Ellyse Perry’s 62* was not enough as the Sixers failed to defend the 137 they posted but more concerning for the Sydney side is the health of Marizanne Kapp who was forced to retire during her time at the crease because of an elevated heart rate. The Sixers hope she will be able to return for this clash but she will have to prove she is well enough to take to the field. Her potential absence would be a big loss but the Sixers should still have enough to respond to their successive losses by returning to winning ways in this one.
