Collingwood (1st) had a bye in Round 14. In their last match, they showed their champion quality by snatching a thrilling 1-point victory over Melbourne (72-71) on the long weekend Monday. They are currently riding a five-game winning streak.

St Kilda (14th) had a day to forget in Round 14, being comprehensively outplayed in a 132-60 defeat to the Western Bulldogs. It was a significant setback, marking their fourth loss in five games.
