The prediction

Friday at the MCG will see the ladder-leading Collingwood Magpies take on a Hawthorn Hawks side looking to bounce back from a subpar Round 11 performance.

Collingwood (1st) continued their dominant season with a strong 45-point victory over North Melbourne in Round 11, their ninth win of the season thus far.

In contrast, Hawthorn (6th) had their momentum thwarted, suffering a 33-point loss to the Lions at the MCG, a game where they were outplayed all over the field.

Collingwood's Nick Daicos continues to deliver a masterclass each week. Against North Melbourne he registered 38 disposals, gaining 736 metres, and having 12 score involvements. Jamie Elliott continued his renaissance in the 2025 season booting 5 goals. 

Collingwood has had the edge over Hawthorn in their recent encounters. The Magpies won both matches last season, a 133-67 demolition in Round 19 and a 5-point classic at Gather Round.
