Charlton vs Watford prediction

Former Luton Town and Southampton boss Nathan Jones has led Charlton Athletic back to the second-tier for the first time in over half a decade after they defeated Leyton Orient in the playoff final at Wembley Stadium in May. The Addicks have since embarked upon a busy and fairly heavy summer of spending, too.

They now face a Watford side that have seen yet another change in management over the summer, with Tom Cleverley being replaced by former Real Valladolid boss Paulo Pezzolano. The Hornets will be expected to push again towards the top six this season after a couple of seasons in the middle-of-the-table.

The intensity and aggression, matched with a defensive attention to detail may give Paulo Pezzolano a rude awakening in south London this weekend, with Charlton looking to be competitive in the Championship.

Charlton vs Watford tip: Charlton to win & under 3.5 goals
