Chad have started their FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign very poorly, as they now prepare to take on what appears to be a strong and improving Ghanaian side this week.

Key Stats

  • Chad have lost eight and drawn one of their nine World Cup qualifying matches since their last FWCQ victory which was a 1-0 home win against Egypt in November 2015.
  • Ghana have won their last four World Cup qualifying matches. This is their best sequence of wins in the qualifiers since they won five in a row in 2013.
  • Ghana have lost only one of their last 12 World Cup qualifying matches (W8 D3).

Chad vs Ghana Prediction

In Group I of CAF qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Chad have badly struggled without a point in their opening six matches. In those six games, they have scored just one goal and conceded 15. Their most recent outing saw them suffer a 2-1 defeat to Kenya in an international friendly in mid-June.

They now face a Ghana side that, under the management of former Borussia Dortmund assistant coach Otto Addo, most recently hammered Trinidad and Tobago by four goals to one at Brentford’s Gtech Community Stadium. They have an impressive squad and sit at the top of Group I with five victories from their six matches.

This now should be a gimme for the Black Stars as they close in on qualification for next summer’s 48-team FIFA World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the United States.

Chad vs Ghana Tip: Ghana to win -1 handicap
