Celta Vigo vs Athletic Bilbao prediction

Having just about held on for UEFA Europa League qualification, Claudio Giraldez was expected to help Celta re-establish themselves as top four or five contenders this season. It has been a slow start, though, with a goalless draw at Mestalla against Valencia being followed by a 2-1 defeat at home to Osasuna.

Athletic Club appointed former Borussia Dortmund manager Edin Terzic over the summer and it was a nightmare start last week with mistakes, glaring misses and a red card contributing to a 3-1 defeat to Sevilla at San Mames before they then succumbed to a 2-0 loss to defending champions Barcelona at Camp Nou in midweek.

Athletic were improved when focusing on defence-first against Barca and they will perhaps likely bring that into this one against a struggling Celta side and so a low-scoring clash in the north west of Spain seems a decent bet.

Celta Vigo vs Athletic Bilbao tip: Under 2.5 goals
