Carlton (10th) secured a comfortable 34-point win over the West Coast Eagles (86-52) in Perth in Round 14. It marked their second consecutive victory, keeping their finals hopes afloat.

North Melbourne (16th) put together another competitive showing, despite falling just short in a 73-67 loss to Fremantle. The performance continues a trend of improved showings. 
 
North Melbourne's young gun Harry Sheezel continued his fine season in the loss to Fremantle, gathering 32 disposals and kicking a goal. 
 
The last meeting between the two was a demolition, with Carlton thrashing North Melbourne by 82 points earlier this season. Carlton also holds a significant historical advantage, leading 103 wins to 60.
