The prediction

The Carlton Blues take on the GWS Giants on Saturday in a critical encounter for both teams. This is one of those matches that could well be considered an eight point game as the two sides jostle for positions around the bottom of the top eight.

The Blues let an early lead slip (again) and eventually went down to the Swans 78-62 at the SCG. The Giants on the other hand started hot favourites in their first home game for a month and were insipid in a 95-61 defeat to the Dockers.

The sides split a pair of high scoring matches in 2024 and the overall ledger sits at 11-7 in favour of the Giants. Tom Green has feasted on possessions against the Blues over the years so look for another big game from him while the Blues will rely on Charlie Curnow and Harry McKay up front to kick a winning score.

With a host of big names still missing with injury (Stephen Cognilio, Josh Kelly, Jake Stringer, Brent Daniels) the Giants are facing a stern test against the Blues. We think the Blues and their inspirational skipper Patrick Cripps can overcome the Giants in this one.
