Canada vs Ireland prediction

The Canadians come into this one on the back of a comfortable 2-0 defeat of Uzbekistan the other day, extending their unbeaten run of form to seven matches with just one loss in their last ten since their shock CONCACAF Gold Cup quarter-final exit at the hands of Guatemala last summer.

The Republic of Ireland took a 2-0 lead in their UEFA playoff semi-final against Czechia in Prague before eventually being beaten on penalties. The Irish have since shared a goalless draw with North Macedonia before defeats of Grenada and Qatar.

Heimur Hallgrimsson has made his Ireland team difficult to play and score against - and that should be the case for an often profligate Canada side and so, while the hosts remain favourites, it may not be a thriller for the neutral.
