In the March international break, Bosnia-Herzegovina stunned Europe by qualifying via the UEFA playoffs. The Bosnians defeated Wales on penalties in Cardiff before doing the same at home against four-time world champions Italy a few days’ later.
North Macedonia, who were at UEFA EURO 2020 but have since regressed a fair bit, head into this one on the back of a goalless draw with Ireland after being hammered 4-0 by Denmark in their UEFA playoff semi-final for FIFA World Cup 2026 in March.
The North Macedonians have spent much of the last 12 months being blown away, despite having bizarrely looked like a threat to Belgium in qualification, and Bosnia are favourites.
