Borussia Dortmund vs Eintracht Frankfurt prediction

Second-placed Borussia Dortmund have lost three of their last four with the season petering out now that Bayern Munich have secured the Bundesliga title. The most recent two of those defeats came on the road but sandwiched between them was a resounding 4-0 win at home to Freiburg. Being in front of their own fans ensures motivation for Dortmund and the requirement to put in a strong performance.

There is pressure on Eintracht Frankfurt, who will find it hard to play with as much freedom compared to the hosts when considering the stakes involved. A loss likely makes things much harder for them to catch Freiburg, who are in action a couple of days later. What also doesn’t help is their recent form, with Frankfurt picking up just a point from their last three games, conceding six goals in the process.

That opens the door for Dortmund, who should come out with a rocket up their backsides after a drab showing in Gladbach last time out. They boast the strongest defence in the Bundesliga, which is likely to be crucial against a team like Frankfurt with numerous offensive weapons and when combined with the notorious prowess of players such as Serhou Guirassy, it makes backing the home side worthwhile.
