It could have been so much more. The site squad rode a green arrow up to second in our TSZ league behind Trystan, who clearly wanted the joint-effort to do well enough to avert suspicion without challenging his own Mastermind FC at the top. Dastardly indeed! There are some truly eye-watering omissions on the Team TSZ bench: Bukayo Saka vs Norwich over Phil Foden at home to Leicester? Madness. Sergio Reguilon as third sub instead of Leicester’s Daniel Amartey, who earned a sweet -1 for the side? Beyond belief. Brandon Williams ahead of CR7?! Unimaginable. Scott Carson in goal over David De Gea? Ah… Trystan’s forgotten to order the team. Of course, it was Boxing Day.

So Team TSZ’s final scores aren’t quite in yet, with DDG able to lend a hand this evening away at Newcastle. If Ronaldo hauls there could be as much as 45 points on the bench. I’d quit, personally. Somehow, they remain inside the top 300k with so many other sides struggling with last-minute changes and postponements. That could all change this evening and I look forward to updating you on this extended car crash next time.

Be it hangover or the heavy weight of guilt, Trystan’s voice sounded lower, huskier, perhaps slightly imbibed as he began his official statement detailing what on Earth happened. Apparently, Trystan had been monitoring news second-by-second, doggedly awaiting confirmations, checking and re-checking COVID-19 cases, injuries et al. Apparently Trystan and Alex had conferred on their preferred Free Hit teams and compromised on a plan that would blow the FPL race wide open. However, the site crashed with minutes to go, causing widespread panic amongst FPL managers everywhere. Apparently Fantasy Premier League are considering handing out a free wildcard as a means of apology. It all sounds quite far-fetched to me.

All I need to add to the evidence is that Trystan made it home for Christmas, and home is genuinely a pub. Enough said.

Alex went on a well-deserved rant about Trystan’s Boxing Day exploits. You may recall this time two seasons ago, where Team TSZ lost 30+ points via an accidentally benched Trent Alexander-Arnold and Sadio Mane.
“LOOK AT THE TEAM! LOOK AT THAT! This is worse than Alexander-Arnold-Gate!” exclaimed Alex, exasperated. Alex tried to suggest that I take over the Boxing Day reins next season but, and do pardon my French, eff that for a laugh.

Once the furore had subsided, attentions were turned to Gameweek 20 which is somehow tomorrow.
"What's the Gameweek?" cried Trystan, calling downward to a boy in Sunday clothes, who perhaps had loitered in to look about him.
"Eh?" returned Alex, with all his might of wonder.
"What's the Gameweek, my fine fellow?" said Trystan.
"The Gameweek?" replied Alex. "Why, Gameweek 20."
"It's Gameweek 20!" said Trystan to himself. "I haven't missed it. The Premier League have done it all in one night. They can do anything they like.”

There was little time left for decisions once Alex had calmed down. He called for transferring in Jarrod Bowen for the hundredth week in a row but the two agreed that if they could afford Heung-Min Son the South Korean would make the better fit with Antonio Conte bringing Spurs back from the cold in recent games.

Of course, with the season currently so unpredictable we shall have to wait until Gameweek 20 morning to see if Trystan wakes up in time to sort the team. If he does, it’ll be Raphinha out for Bowen, with Mo Salah captained against a porous Leicester side missing at least six first-team defenders.
