Gabriel Diallo will be targeting a run of wins in Shanghai.
The Canadian has not picked up back-to-back wins since Mallorca and faces a tricky opener here against Benjamin Bonzi.
The Frenchman has won six of his last nine to surge back into the top 50 and posted an eye-catching 7-6 6-4 victory over an in-form Reilly Opelka in the first round.
There’s little between the two in terms of ranking with world number 35 Diallo sitting 13 places better off in the rankings.
This will be a first meeting too, so it’s hard to look at how they will match-up.
Diallo obviously has the bigger game but Bonzi has produced some fine upsets this year and it may be worth taking in that first set before plumping for the outright winner.
