Australia vs Switzerland prediction

With a young squad whereby 18 of the 26-man squad are playing at their first ever FIFA World Cup, the Australians come into this one on the back of a tough encounter against Mexico, succumbing to a slender 1-0 defeat against El Tri last week.

They now face a Switzerland side that, coached by Murat Yakin, head into this one on the back of a 4-1 demolition of a poor Jordan side last week. The Swiss are seeking to build on an impressive summer a couple of years ago whereby they reached the quarter-finals of UEFA EURO 2024, only losing to eventual runners’ up England on penalties.

Switzerland have a lot of quality and are a better side than the Socceroos but the Australians will try to frustrate them and ensure it is a lower-scoring affair.

Australia vs Switzerland tip: Switzerland to win & under 3.5 goals
