CASTLEFORD TIGERS

  • Castleford overcame St. Helens in a tight game last week despite having rested several of their key players in an attempt to keep them fresh after the recent busy schedule.
  • Daryl Powell is able to recall Zak Hardaker, Luke Gale, Grant Millington and Michael Shenton. Adam Milner has also recovered from injury so he too is named in the 19-man squad.
  • Castleford will be looking to extend their lead at the top of the Super League table and will fancy their chances having won their last 12 home Super League matches.

WARRINGTON WOLVES

  • Warrington's season took another turn for the worse when they were comprehensively beaten 44-4 by Huddersfield to drop to 10th in the Super League table.
  • Under-pressure head coach Tony Smith's woes have been compounded by the loss of Ryan Atkins and Matty Russell to injuries. Youngster Will Dagger comes into the squad and will make his Super Leage debut.
  • Warrington's overall form has been poor this season but they've particularly struggled on the road having won just one of their eight away league games.

Analysis - what to expect
League leaders Castleford solidified their claims that they can win silverware this year as their under-strength side clinched a late win at home to St. Helens last week. That was their twelfth home league win in a row and this looks like the perfect game to extend that run to thirteen. Warrington were extremely poor at Huddersfield last week with the players looking devoid of confidence as Tony Smith clings on to his job. With the luxury of resting some of their key men last week, Castelford should be refreshed and ready to pile more misery onto the Wolves in what could be a very one-sided contest.
