- Warrington bounced back from their disappointing loss to Catalans with a comfortable win over previously undefeated Castleford last week and now host struggling Wigan as they look for revenge over last year’s Grand Final defeat.
- Wolves head coach Steve Price dropped Tom Lineham and Ryan Atkins last week and whilst both could yet miss out again, an injury to Bryson Goodwin could open the door for one of them to return to the 17.
- Ben Currie made a surprise return to the match day side last week after fully recovering from the ACL injury that blighted him last season and he looks set to retain his place after coming through the Castleford game without any adverse reaction.
WIGAN WARRIORS

- Wigan followed up their loss against London with another loss to Huddersfield who toppled the Warriors for their first win of the season and now face a tough trip to Warrington who will be out for blood.
- The season couldn’t have started much worse for the defending champions and facing the team they defeated for that crown back in October poses a difficult challenge with the Wolves only losing one game so far this season.
- Wigan suffered several injuries last week with Dom Manfredi, Liam Marshall and Sam Powell all out as a result whilst Taulima Tautai picked up a three-match ban but Joe Greenwood returns to the squad having passed his head test following a concussion.
THE PREDICTION
In a repeat of last season's Grand Final, reigning champions Wigan head into the game with just one win all season and look like they have a long season ahead. The Warriors cannot get out of their rut and their misery should be compounded by Warrington who will be looking to turn the screw on their rivals. They will want to lay some demons to rest after that defeat in the Grand Final and can really put on a show in front of what should be a bumper crowd with the Wolves set for a comfortable win.
