  • Canterbury were terrible as they were on the end of a heavy defeat in their opening game as New Zealand Warriors put 40 points on them and will be hoping to quickly put that behind them on home soil.

  • The Bulldogs got through their sets last week but it was their defensive effort that let them down but despite that, head coach Dean Pay has decided to stick with the same 17 although late changes could still occur.

  • With Parramatta claiming an unexpected win over Penrith in Round 1, Canterbury must start strongly against a team that will arrive full of confidence or it could be another long afternoon for the Bulldogs.

  • Parramatta got their season off to a great start as the Eels held off a late Penrith fightback to secure a surprise victory and set the tone for what is hopefully a better season after finishing with the wooden spoon last year.

  • The Eels are going to be without Nathan Brown and Will Smith for a prolonged period with a pectoral injury and a broken arm respectively whilst Michael Jennings has been handed a ban for a high shot in last week’s game.

  • Josh Hoffman comes in at centre whilst Junior Paulo returns from injury at prop which sees Tepai Moeroa reverting to lock and in their final change from last week, Jaeman Salmon is the new name on the bench.

THE PREDICTION

Canterbury's season couldn't have started any worse after they were hammered by New Zealand Warriors last week. Parramatta on the other hand got their year off to a great start with a shock win at Penrith and they can make it back-to-back victories with the Bulldogs unable to improve enough. They are hampered by having several first-teamers unavailable through injury and suspension but have still named a strong side and they can edge this contest.
