It's fair to say that Anhelina Kalinina's 6-1, 6-2 victory over Elina Avanesyan was fairly routine, but the scoreline did perhaps flatter her a little as she did offer up plenty of break-point opportunities to her opponent. However, the Ukrainian was simply more clinical when she was presented with similar chances herself, and she now has a first ever French Open third round within her grasp.
Standing in her way is France's very own Lois Boisson, who recorded her maiden Grand Slam victory in the first round. Facing 24th seed Elise Mertens, the 22-year-old rose to the challenge in front of her own crowd to earn a hard-fought 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 victory.
Whether lightning strikes twice for Boisson remains to be seen, but if she plays to the same level against Kalinina then she is capable of taking this to a deciding set at least.
