Chasing a first career ATP Singles title, Alejandro Davidovich Fokina has enjoyed a dream run in Washington this week.

After eliminating compatriot Jaume Munar in the first round, the Spaniard has since seen off three of North America's finest, including top seed Taylor Fritz in the quarter-final before most recently defeating Ben Shelton in straight sets in the last four.

Alex de Minaur represents another tough obstacle though, with the speedy Australian, like his final opponent, having dropped just one set on his way to the final.

Runner-up at this tournament back in 2018, De Minaur has unfinished business in Washington, but he knows he faces an inspired opponent who has raised his game when he has needed to throughout the last week.

The bookies edge the higher-ranked Di Minaur, but given Fokkie's superb form this week, there is value to be had in backing both players to win a set.
