Since the appointment of former Watford boss Quique Sanchez Flores, Alaves have been much-improved of late. However, they could also secure European qualification in Europe, too, as they sit a point behind Getafe in the table after an excellent run of form which continued with a 2-0 defeat of Villarreal last week.

Rayo will be distracted and Alaves won’t believe their luck for it to be happening again but the fact that the top seven remains on the line means it may not be a straightforward home win.
