The prediction

The Adelaide Crows (2nd) are flying high. In Round 20, they produced a record-breaking 98-point showdown demolition of their arch-rivals, Port Adelaide, in a ruthless display of power and precision. Their percentage of 146.0% is the best in the league, and their home record at Adelaide Oval is a formidable 10-1. 

The Hawthorn Hawks (5th) continued their impressive season with a clinical 85-61 win over Carlton at the MCG. They have won four of five, solidifying their place in the top eight after some mid season wobbles. 

Adelaide's emerging key forward, Riley Thilthorpe, was a major factor in the win over Port. He presented a constant threat in the attacking half, finishing with three crucial goals and 19 disposals. 

Hawthorn's inspirational captain, James Sicily, was a wall in defence against Carlton. He was at his intercepting best, racking up 25 disposals, 14 intercept possessions, and 11 marks in a dominant defensive performance. 

Hawthorn claimed a narrow 47-44 victory when the two sides met in Round 14 this season. The last five encounters are 4-1 in Hawthorn's favour.
