Wycombe vs Portsmouth Prediction

There are just five places separating these two sides in the English football pyramid as Wycombe Wanderers try and chase the title in League One, whilst Portsmouth, reigning League One champions, fight against relegation from the Championship.

The home team have been very impressive this season as they set and keep pace with big spending Birmingham City and Wrexham in the third-tier. However, with the departure of some key loanees, the Chairboys are wobbling and their 1-0 defeat at home to Huddersfield Town the other day means they have won just three of their last ten matches across all competitions.

Portsmouth have struggled to adapt to the second-tier but John Mousinho’s southerners have been able to grow and improve as the season has gone on to sit outside of the bottom three and the relegation places. Pompey come into this one on the back of a slender 1-0 defeat to promotion-chasing Sunderland at the Stadium of Light at the weekend.

Wycombe are a very attacking side and, even with changes, will get on the front foot, whilst Pompey’s deep squad, especially in attack, should mean this is quite a fun clash.

Wycombe vs Portsmouth Tip: Both teams to score
