West Indies vs South Africa prediction

Both West Indies and South Africa have been drawing attention for their respective batting fireworks and all signs points to an absolute cracker of a contest between the two nations here. West Indies’ last game saw them rack up a monstrous 254/6 against Zimbabwe, a team record score which led to a thumping 107-run win. South Africa meanwhile, registered 187/7 whilst taking on India, before bowling them out for just 111. This after recording totals of 213/4 and 187/6 in the two previous fixtures in the tournament which had seen the Proteas bat first.

What do these two teams have in common? The fact that whenever either side comes out to bat, somebody steps up and puts a sizeable score on the board. Of the ten T20 World Cup fixtures so far to feature either West Indies or South Africa, only one passed by without a batter scoring at least a half-century. That was South Africa’s six-wicket triumph over Afghanistan when they were only chasing 123 for victory.

When taking this into account and the fact that this is a day fixture in the Ahmedabad sun, we’re expecting plenty of runs from both sides and the smart move would be to back a score of fifty or more to be scored by at least one player from both West Indies and South Africa.
