West Indies vs New Zealand prediction

Set a target of 267 to beat New Zealand in the first of five ODIs, the West Indies top order delivered. All five batters sent to the crease reached double figures, with Keacy Carty and captain Shai Hope doing most of the damage, scoring 95 and 87 respectively. Hope was unbeaten at the end, underlining his excellently timed knock and how he never lost control of the chase.

New Zealand’s bowling attack were firing blanks across the Windies chase and that must change if they are to level things up. But with the bat, it will have been pleasing to see Daryl Mitchell carry on his form from the third Test against England with 65 in this ODI. Back him to continue in the same vein with over 33.5 match runs.

West Indies vs New Zealand tip: Daryl Mitchell to score over 33.5 match runs
