West Indies vs Australia prediction
West Indies could not handle the Australian bowlers in the first Test and a strong second innings score from the tourists propelled them to victory by 159 runs. That doesn’t mean there weren’t any positives to take from a West Indian perspective as their young pace bowling attack hugely impressed, dismissing the Aussies cheaply across the first innings of the match.
But we highlighted in our preview of that first Test the likelihood that Australia’s bowling line-up would have a lot of success against the West Indies batters, which turned out to be the case. Whilst there is a lot to like about the Windies, their batting is not yet at the level in which it can accumulate a large volume of runs against the likes of Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood.
This means Australia have to be seen as favourites again here. They aren’t without their own flaws, particularly that top order, but they have enough about them to pick up another win.
